About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for you to join the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences (NDCN) as a Finance Apprentice.
NDCN is based in high quality research and clinical facilities in the West Wing of the John Radcliffe Hospital. You will be a member of the Finance team that supports the administration of NDCN’s world leading research programmes. You will provide a professional, high-quality customer-focussed service, assisting with the management of financial transactions. The team deals with a high volume of activity, and you will have to be adaptable, organised, and a team player.
You will gain skills and experience both in the workplace, and through the completion of a course of study. Appropriate objectives will be set during the course of your Apprenticeship and you will be assigned a mentor to oversee your development.
About the apprenticeship
You will complete a 27-month training programme that will be delivered through in-house training and day release, or other distance learning methods delivered by Abingdon & Witney College.
You will complete a Level 3 Assistant Accountant apprenticeship standard, which includes the L2 AAT qualification as a foundation. You will gain an Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) Level 2 Foundation Certificate, and a Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Accounting qualification as part of this apprenticeship.
In total, it will take 21 months to complete all elements of the apprenticeship, with support from the Department, University, and College throughout.
About you
You will be passionate about starting your career in Finance and excited about the opportunity of becoming an apprentice with us. You may be starting your career or be looking for a career change.
You will need passes (4/C or above) in GCSE Maths and English. Abingdon & Witney college will ask you to complete a short initial assessment during the application process. There are also government residency requirements for Apprenticeship funding which the Training Provider will be able to advise on.
What we offer
You will benefit from a supportive environment working in collaboration with the rest of our team. You will also be supported by the central apprenticeship team and you will join our growing network of university apprentices.
We will provide you with a welcoming and inclusive workplace, offering support and development opportunities that will enable you to do your best work. We recognise diversity as our strength, and we aspire to build a diverse community, which values and respects every individual’s unique contribution.
Over 80% of our apprentices continue with us in the role they have been trained for after their Apprenticeship.
