About the role:
The Faculty Services seeks to appoint a highly skilled, experienced and self-motivated Technical Supervisor – Analytical Facilities to provide expert technical supervision, guidance and support across its complex of laboratories, research and teaching facilities!
You will provide support in the applications and use of specialist chemical analysis systems including development of protocols and the day-to-day maintenance, configuration, and operation of a wide range of instrumentation and equipment. In addition, you will work closely with the Technical Manager to ensure the effective management of health, safety and welfare within the Department and wider Faculty. This will include process improvement and the promotion of best practice in laboratory spaces in line with the University’s Climate Action Framework and other environmental considerations.
As part of the Technical Team, you will undertake general technical and housekeeping support duties across the Faculty as reasonably required. You'll also support undergraduate and postgraduate students, especially in laboratory and project work.
This position is offered on a full time, permanent basis. Given the supervisory nature of this role, full time attendance on campus is required, home or hybrid working is not applicable to this position.

About us:
The Faculty Services team is supported by a diverse cohort of highly specialised technical supervisors and technicians covering a wide variety of subject areas including 3D printing and laser cutting laboratories, manufacturing workshops, electronics and instrumentation and analytical laboratories under the guidance of the Technical Manager. They provide faculty wide support to all four faculty departments.
