The School of Optometry at Aston University is seeking to appoint a Clinical Research Optometrist to join our myopia research team and contribute to the delivery of our programme of research.
You will be an integral part of a research team investigating the impact of myopia management methods on visual function. You will be expected to manage a range of research projects in collaboration with the academic team of Professor Leon Davies, Professor Nicola Logan, Dr Amy Sheppard and Professor James Wolffsohn. You will be based on campus at the School of Optometry and will be required to travel to national and international collaborative sites as required. You will also assist in producing research presentations, clinical training material, deliver research and educational presentations internally and externally, and will be encouraged to publish the results of studies in leading ophthalmic and/ or professional journals.
In addition, you will be able to demonstrate the necessary teamwork skills to foster collaboration with existing colleagues both within the University and externally. As well as have experience of undertaking ophthalmic research. Candidates already registered with the General Optical Council are desirable.
