As our student numbers increase and we continue to diversify our programmes and portfolio, we are now looking for a high-calibre individual to join us as  a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Criminology and Sociology at The University of Law in our Academic Team based in London Bloomsbury. 

Reporting into our Academic Manager and Head of Policing and Criminology, you will be providing tuition across the University of Law course portfolio including the Criminology programmes and/or other University courses to the best possible standard. 

As a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Criminology and Sociology at The University of Law, you will: 

  • Providing high quality teaching and assessment of Criminology, make contributions to the delivery of our other undergraduate degrees
  • Be involved in the design and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. 

 We are looking for individuals who are/have:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant area
  • Teaching qualification or working towards. Please note that if you do not currently have/are not undertaking a PGCHE or an equivalent qualification, it is a requirement of the University that you will enrol into the programme (delivered and financially supported by the University), usually within 12 months of passing probation.
  • Sufficient breadth or depth of specialist knowledge in the discipline to develop teaching programmes and learning support.
  • Experience of higher education function
  • Ability to use a range of delivery approaches to enthuse and engage students in their learning

*Please note: For Senior Lecturers: You will have developed significant expertise in: Application and practical delivery of a range of teaching techniques, pastoral care, mentoring colleagues, assessments and marking, team leadership.
