Applications are invited for the above post based in the Nottingham School of Economics. The School is one of the UK’s premier research and teaching departments for economics, ranked 5th in UK in IDEAS/RePEC, 5th in UK by Research Power in REF2022 and 6th in the UK by the Tilburg ranking of Economics Departments.

As a Teaching Associate you will be expected to

  • deliver innovative teaching for a range of classes in the economics discipline
  • prepare assessments and conduct marking of examinations and coursework
  • supervise and examine undergraduate dissertations
  • support tutorial groups, developing their knowledge and learning skills
  • contribute positively and proactively to the teaching culture, especially considering issues of underrepresentation 
  • take a proactive role in the pastoral support of students, dealing with sensitive issues
  • be responsible for administrative duties

Candidates should have, or be demonstrably close to submitting, a PhD (or equivalent) in Economics.  All the teaching in the School is informed by research and applicants should state their research interests and to which of the School’s Research Centres they would like to be attached. This post will be offered on a fixed-term contract, starting 01 February 2024, until 31 January 2025. Hours of work are full time (36.25 hours per week). Job share arrangements may also be considered.
