We are seeking an exceptional candidate to enhance excellence in teaching and research in the Dundee Law School.
The successful candidate will be an international environmental lawyer, expected to take a leading role in the development of our environmental law curriculum, working across our taught programmes and PhD supervision and working with colleagues across the School of Humanities, Social Sciences and Law and the wider University.
Specialist expertise may come from across any area of international environmental law. We would be especially interested in candidates with expertise in international climate change law, transboundary water law, the law of the sea, ESG law, or biodiversity and nature conservation. We welcome applications from those working from doctrinal, theoretical, contextual, and/or interdisciplinary perspectives, and applications from practitioners.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in cross-school interdisciplinary initiatives including within the UNESCO Centre for Water Law, Policy and Science https://www.dundee.ac.uk/water and the planned new University-wide Sustainability Institute, which will also be hosted in the School of Humanities, Social Sciences and Law
In addition to teaching and administrative duties, the successful candidates should have a clearly articulated research strategy and will undertake excellent research with demonstrable impact. Pursuit of external grant funding and published research papers are essential along with a strategy for knowledge exchange.
