Applications are invited for the post of Senior Lecturer in the Department of Law and Criminology. There is one full time permanent Senior Lecturer post in Law available. The Department of Law and Criminology is part of the School of Law and Social Sciences, alongside the Departments of Economics, Politics, International Relations and Philosophy. We are forward thinking, multidisciplinary and research active. We offer undergraduate programmes in Law, Criminology & Psychology and Criminology & Sociology and Social Science, together with Masters programmes in Forensic Psychology, Consumption, Culture & Marketing, Terrorism and Counter-Terrorism Studies and Social Work. We are also home to an energetic postgraduate research student community.
We seek an outstanding teacher and researcher to join our dynamic and multidisciplinary team. In this post we are seeking to add to our research priorities in alignment with the University’s research catalysts which are currently Living Sustainably, Transformative Digital Technologies, Security and Society and Digital Futures in the Creative and Cultural Industries. The position includes teaching undergraduate core subjects with particular emphasis on Land Law, the Law of Trusts and Contract Law. We are also keen to develop our teaching portfolio in other areas of undergraduate and postgraduate levels of teaching, including the supervision of doctoral students and the development of specialist options to reflect specific areas of expertise. Applicants should possess the broad range of skills needed to teach effectively and as well as core teaching within our existing programmes should be able to contribute to and develop our teaching portfolio. We also expect academic leadership and an effective contribution to programme or department administration or projects improving the student experience.
