Location: Nottingham
Salary: £33,966 to £45,585 per annum pro-rata depending on skills and experience
Hours: Part Time
Contract Type: Fixed-Term/Contract
Placed On: 21st November 2023
Closes: 4th December 2023
Job Ref: MED529323

The School of Health Sciences (SHS) at the University of Nottingham, one of the four Schools in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FMHS), provides a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the fields of nursing, midwifery, physiotherapy, sport rehabilitation, and for the allied health professions. Our aim and purpose are “to educate and nurture the best and brightest students who will go on to transform the lives of individuals and communities locally, nationally and internationally”. We provide a structure for people to thrive, feel supported, and valued, where health, safety, physical, and mental wellbeing are prioritised.

We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Associate to support the teaching (theory and practice) and related activities on our undergraduate physiotherapy and sport rehabilitation programmes. Our BSc (Hons) Sport Rehabilitation programme has some shared teaching with our BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy programme, and as such both cohorts learn and work together on modules throughout the three years of undergraduate education. This provides a rich and interprofessional structure where students and staff interact and develop.

The role holder will deliver teaching across all three years of our undergraduate sport rehabilitation and physiotherapy programmes and may be involved in the development of postgraduate programmes within the field of rehabilitation. The focus for teaching will include topics covered across the sport rehabilitation curriculum relative to the role holder’s experience, such as anatomy and exercise physiology, therapeutic interventions, sport psychology, biomechanics, and exercise therapy.

Candidates are invited to apply who have evidence of teaching at undergraduate or post graduate level. A higher degree or the equivalent in professional qualifications and experience in a relevant subject area are essential, and a QCF Level 7 qualification (MSc/MA) in a relevant subject is desirable.

This is a fixed-term post, available until 30th June 2024. Hours of work are part-time (14.5 hours per week over 2 days).

Informal enquiries may be addressed to the Continuing Education Manager, Mara Sprengel-Smith, via email mara.sprengel-smith@nottingham.ac.uk. Please note that applications sent directly to this email address will not be accepted.
