ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking exceptional academic colleagues who have research plans which will have a remarkable impact on our disciplines and/or drive development of our Research Peaks, to join our Vice-Chancellor's Fellowship Scheme.
As a Vice Chancellor’s Fellow, you will have a permanent academic role, and for the first three years you will be supported to undertake independent and collaborative research, delivering an agreed research plan to make a significant contribution to the research profile of the University. ABOUT THE RESEARCH AREA
Northumbria’s dynamic, ambitious and world leading research in the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI) focuses on the cultural, civic, and economic value of these industries regionally, nationally, and internationally. Researchers in CCI have extensive expertise in film, media, the arts, museums and heritage, music, fashion, design, creative writing, cultural policy, and theatre and performance. Our research leverages interdisciplinary, collaborative approaches and practice-based enquiry to tackle the biggest challenges facing society today, and we are looking for excellent people to join us.
Committed to ‘real world’ research, a clear understanding of the potential impact of your work will be essential. Northumbria has a diverse and excellent portfolio of Creative and Cultural Industries research; we are interested in applicants with expertise in any area of this work but who understand the power and importance of interdisciplinary approaches in shaping creative ecologies and economies for the future. To be considered for this prestigious opportunity you must demonstrate academic excellence, evidenced through your role in the production of world-leading research outputs and have experience of winning grant funding (appropriate to discipline and career stage). In addition, you must demonstrate a clear research plan for the period of the Fellowship.
