The purpose of the role is to manage the Imperial Venture Mentoring Service (IVMS) and oversee Experts-in-Residence (XiR) , two of Imperial College London’s flagship entrepreneurial coaching and mentoring services. Since 2017, IVMS ventures have raised over £70m in funding and obtained places on accelerators such as Y Combinator, Techstars, and Entrepreneur First.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of IVMS as well as overseeing the day-to-day operations of the complementary XiR service.
You will get to forge new paths for both IVMS and XiR. Working with serial entrepreneurs, C-suite individuals, and sector specialists, you will gain a keen understanding of how coaching and mentoring entrepreneurs works synergistically with formal entrepreneurial programmes.
You will be a member of the Enterprise Lab Team, which has a remit across the College to provide services for staff, students, alumni, and companies based in Imperial’s White City Incubator, and will have line management responsibility for the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Coordinator.
Since 2012, Imperial student startups have raised over £575m in grant and venture capital, creating employment for over 4,500 FTE. Since 2019, over 40 IP staff spinout companies have been created, raising over £80m, and providing employment for over 500 FTE.
