The Civil Engineering Department is experiencing rapid growth and plans are in place to develop new apprenticeship and Masters Courses. You will be expected to be involved in the development and delivery of Civil Engineering related subjects with a special focus on Structural Engineering. You are also expected to contribute to the delivery of other subjects including Mathematics, Introduction to Geotechnical Engineering and Land Surveying. Candidates from other Civil Engineering backgrounds are also welcomed.
The post has four key performance areas; teaching, research, new course development and external income activities. Teaching will involve lecturing Civil Engineering related modules on the undergraduate and post graduate courses. The generation of research outputs is expected, as well as contributing to recruitment, marketing, transnational education and business activities within the School.
You must have a doctorate degree in Civil Engineering related areas or should be nearing completion. Applicants with extensive experience in a relevant Civil Engineering subject area are also invited to apply. A proven familiarity with recent developments in one of the areas within Civil Engineering, as well as the ability to work flexibly in a team environment are essential qualities, together with relevant professional body qualifications. A well-established research record would be a distinct advantage, as would experience of new modules development as the School implements its expansion plans.
