Applications are invited for the post of Careers Adviser (PGR and ECRs) within the Careers and Employability Service, University Park. The successful candidate will be joining a large service which is committed to working together to combine the skills, insights and experience of teams working directly with students, academics, employers and other stakeholders, with those of our enabling teams to develop and deliver a consistently high level of service and professional standards. 

As Careers Adviser based within the PGR (Postgraduate Researcher) and ECR (Early Career Researcher) team, you will support activities related to skills and career development. This will be informed by the needs of researchers, stakeholders, the University of Nottingham’s Concordat strategy and recruitment trends. 

The Careers Adviser will work across the team, Careers and Employability Service and University to support the employability of researchers through the design and delivery of teaching and learning resources, online and face to face workshops, and group and individual coaching.  

The key to success in these roles is flexibility in handling the variety of projects and the ability to engage and collaborate with service, academic and other professional service colleagues to deliver against multiple agendas. In addition, experience and skills in developing innovative and engaging learning resources and programmes in both one to one and group settings will be essential to success in the role.

This position is offered on a part time (21.75 hours per week), fixed term contract until 30 April 2026. Roles will typically start at the bottom of the grading, except in exceptional circumstances. Hybrid working options are available, with an expectation that the successful candidate will spend 60% of their time working on campus.

Interviews will take place in person on University Park on Tuesday 12th March 2024.
