Location: One in London, and one in Leicester or Northampton 

Purpose of the Role

Elizabeth School of London (ESL), a respected undergraduate programme institution with strong UK university partnerships, seeks two qualified Programme Leaders. Reporting to an Academic Manager, you'll coordinate Health and Social Care programmes, emphasizing expertise at both university and higher education (HE) levels.

Your primary location is our Canary Wharf campus, with occasional days at our Holborn campus.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Coordinate academic operational matters for the assigned partner university, focusing on Health and Social Care courses
  • Monitor and report on teaching quality, emphasizing a deep understanding at university and HE levels
  • Develop and maintain academic calendars, with an awareness of Health and Social Care programme timelines
  • Efficiently coordinate lecturers’ timetables across campuses, especially for Health and Social Care modules
  • Liaise with ESL’s examinations team for meticulous coordination of Health and Social Care assessments
  • Collaborate with the Academic Partnership team for consistent communication on Health and Social Care programme development
  • Effectively communicate academic operational matters related to Health and Social Care with partner university staff
  • Skillfully manage Academic Administrators, focusing on Health and Social Care programmes
  • Align with the strategic direction set by the Dean and/or the Academic Director, with a specific emphasis on advancing Health and Social Care courses
  • Uphold a comprehensive knowledge of the partner university’s policies in Health and Social Care programme delivery, ensuring strict adherence
  • Participate in regular meetings with partner university staff on operational matters related to Health and Social Care, Board of Studies meetings, and PAB/MAB meetings, as required
  • Occasional travel (reimbursed) to ESL’s campuses in London, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Leicester, and Northampton, focusing on Health and Social Care programme development
  • Instil an ethos of academic professionalism and excellence within the Academic department, particularly in the context of Health and Social Care education
  • Cultivate relationships with industry partners for Health and Social Care internships, guest lectures, and collaborative projects
  • Provide robust academic and pastoral support to students enrolled in Health and Social Care programmes
  • Elevate student engagement and satisfaction with the Health and Social Care programme
  • Address student feedback, actively working towards continuous improvement of the Health and Social Care student experience
  • Maintain meticulous records of academic operational matters related to Health and Social Care, subject to periodic audits
  • Undertake other occasional duties
  • Lecture in the subject areas of Health and Social Care (maximum 6 hours per week)

Essential Qualifications

  • PhD or Master’s Degree in Health and Social Care or a related field from a UK-style university, demonstrating specialized knowledge
  • Excellent command of English, or IELTS certification at 8 or above
  • Extensive lecturing/teaching experience at a UK HE or FE institution, specifically in Health and Social Care
  • Right to work in the UK or British citizenship
