The above full- or part-time, fixed-term post is available immediately for initially a fixed-term period of two years with potential to be made permanent (subject to funding).

Summary of the role
We are seeking an outstanding and highly motivated Impact Fellow to support the delivery of the University’s Green Futures Solutions initiative. Green Futures Solutions is the University of Exeter’s new business support initiative, bringing our world leading expertise in environmental research and education to organisations around the world.

Our Green Futures Solutions team brings together academic and professional services to help grow our comprehensive research that is responsive and adaptive to business and external demand. This role specifically is seeking to augment existing capability within the Land, Environment, Economics and Policy (LEEP) Institute at the University of Exeter Business School.

The successful applicant will join LEEP as an Impact Fellow and will be engaged in the design and delivery of applied research and consultancy with the public and private sector. They are expected to deliver services, in particular through the use and application of LEEP models and tools. They will be expected to lead in both technical and non-technical aspects of bid/tender response and contracted deliverables. They will work in collaboration with colleagues undertaking similar roles under the Green Futures Solutions initiative.

About you
You will come from a business/policy/practitioner or research background, and embrace an ethos of excellence, integrity and collaboration and desire to deliver solutions from our science and research.

You are required to have strong quantitative skills with a background in environmental and/or economic sciences, preferably with an understanding of the natural capital approach and its application. Experience in one or more of the following areas would be desirable:

  • Modelling of environmental and economic systems.
  • Spatial and statistical data analysis.
  • Coding in R/Python/MATLAB.
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Working with decision-makers outside of academia.
