Catering & Hospitality Assistants play a super-important role in the UEA’s ‘The Campus Kitchen’ in providing efficient support for our outlets and delivered hospitality department. This role is for part time work on a university term time only basis.

Working mainly in our busy hospitality department, but with the potential to work in any of our 14 outlets across campus too, you will assist with preparation and service of delivered catering and events. You will also ensure deliveries are completed correctly and on time, and that large functions and served dinners run smoothly.

Due to the nature of the role, you will be required to drive UEA vehicles and therefore must be able to evidence a full UK driving licence at interview.

If you are keen to work in UEA’s busy food & drink outlets and have good experience working in catering outlets this role could be perfect for you!

Is this role for me?

You will demonstrate the ability to work hard within a fast-paced environment; consistently demonstrate great customer service; display enthusiasm and have a willingness to support your team. Previous experience of working in a hospitality environment with some barista training or experience is preferred, but not essential. You will be required to work 5 out of 7 days, day, weekend and evening shifts for 20 hours per week, 28 weeks per year (University term time only).

What are the benefits of working for UEA?

As well as working for a business that cares and supports the mental health and wellbeing of their personnel, you will also benefit from:

  • 34 days annual leave inclusive of Bank Holidays and University Customary days (per annum, pro rata for part-time).
  • Family and Work-life balance policies including considerable maternity, paternity, shared parental leave and adoption leave.
  • Generous pension scheme with life cover for dependants, plus incapacity cover.
  • Health and Wellbeing: discounted access to Sportspark facilities, relaxation rooms, 320 acres of rolling parkland, wellbeing walks, Wellbeing Ambassador network, medical centre, Occupational Health and a 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Campus Facilities: Sportspark, library, nursery, supermarket, post office, bars and catering outlets.
  • Exclusive shopping discounts to help cut the cost of household bills, childcare salary sacrifice scheme, Cycle to Work scheme and public transport discounts.
  • Personal Development: unlimited access to LinkedIn Learning courses, specialist advice and training from our Organisational Development and Professional Learning Team.

If you meet all the essential requirements of the person specification, including a love of working in the service industry it would be great to hear from you.

This part-time (20 hours per week, University term time only) role is available immediately on an indefinite basis.

Closing date: 28 February 2024
