Lancashire Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) provides expertise in the design and delivery of feasibility studies, evaluation trials, complex interventions, and other well-designed clinical intervention studies. Lancashire CTU is undertaking significant investment in the development of Lancashire CTU and the recruitment of staff with relevant clinical and/or research expertise. We are looking for enthusiastic professionals to join the Lancashire Clinical Trials Unit which manages health related trials for UCLan, external organisations and international partners. At this stage we are seeking to appoint staff to support the CTU Management Team in supporting with the quality assurance management.

We wish to recruit a Clinical Trials Unit Quality and Training Manager, to join our CTU team to help support the oversight management of our increasing trials portfolio.

The CTU Quality and Training Manager will have a major role in Quality Assurance (QA) within the CTU and will report to the Directors of the Lancashire CTU. The post-holder will co-ordinate the development and implementation of QA processes within the CTU developing education and training, both for CTU members and when required for researchers linked to the CTU portfolio.

The successful applicant will have significant experience of delivering Quality Assurance oversight in either an NHS Clinical or an Academic Clinical Research setting. Experience of involvement in undertaking, co-ordinating or managing clinical research as well as experience of conducting monitoring and auditing activities within clinical research is essential.

The successful applicant will have a first degree in a relevant subject and/or significant experience in the delivery of the essentials of this post.

Also essential is strong interpersonal skills including excellent communication and relationship building skills, proven time management skills by working to tight deadlines as well as good IT skills particularly in MS Office software (Word, Excel, Visio, Access, Project) and including the use of databases.
