About the Role:
The Faculty of Arts, Humanities, Education and Social Sciences offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. In Education these include the PGCert, MA Education, MBA, PGCE, as well as doctoral level studies. Our undergraduate provision includes Working with Children, Families and Communities, Early Childhood Studies, Montessori and Primary Education Studies. Following our successful accreditation from the Department of Education, we will be delivering courses that award Qualified Teacher Status from September 2024, starting with a brand-new three-year BEd (Hons) Primary Education with Qualified Teacher Status.

We are seeking to recruit an experienced Early Years professional to join us in a full-time capacity as a Practice Learning Tutor. The post will include teaching, placement organisation and support for our Early Childhood Studies course portfolio in the School of Education. In this role, you will support the continued development of the Early Childhood Graduate Practitioner Competencies as an integral part of the degree programs and will work with local, regional and national Early Years settings, as well as across national and international distance learning networks, to develop community-based early childhood networks of practice.

With a degree or relevant professional qualification and extensive post-qualification CPD and/or a higher degree, you will have appropriate and extensive early years-based professional practice experience. Excellent communication skills and a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office are essential, as well as the ability to think innovatively. You will have an enthusiastic and flexible approach and will show a willingness to contribute to the collective life of the faculty.
