The role

You will be working with the GW4+ Doctoral Training Partnership on a project to develop educational and teaching support materials for young people in the age range 11 to 16 and their teachers to improve understanding of urgent issues in climate change, sustainability and biodiversity and create interest in those topics as a potential study and career pathway for those young people.

The Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP) is based at the University of Bristol and currently supports around 100 PhD students in the Earth, Environmental and Life Sciences across Bath, Bristol, Cardiff and Exeter Universities and five environmental research organisations.

What will you be doing?

You will  lead the process of planning and organising, managing content providers, liaising with stakeholders and subject experts, reporting on progress and outcomes and bringing the project to a successful completion.

You will use your creativity, knowledge of the education sector and project management skills to draw together expertise from experts in environmental science, educators in England and Wales and content creators to produce materials and films that will inspire young people to delve into climate science, sustainability and biodiversity and cause them to consider future advanced study and a career focussed on these topics. 

You should apply if

You have an interest in using your own and others’ expertise to create engaging and inspiring educational content for young people and teaching materials to equip and give confidence to teachers in covering the subjects of climate change, sustainability and biodiversity.

You have the discipline to keep a project on track according to a detailed specification and the flexibility to think through and solve problems and issues that arise during project delivery.

Contract type: Open-ended with fixed funding until 31/03/2025

Work pattern: Part-time 0.8 FTE and/or other FTE can be considered
