Short summary

The Translation team supports our researchers in applying and translating their research into new therapies, diagnostics and technologies; and working with industry and academic partners to achieve this. The role is essential in coordinating Translation team operational processes and reporting activities, and will work closely with all members of the Translation team.

The LifeArc-Crick Fund supports translational projects which are developing a proof of concept that could have an impact on human health. LifeArc has so far supported 9 projects, with two further applications being reviewed in 2Q24.  These, and future projects need portfolio management for the duration of the projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data and process management for Translation team tech transfer activities.
  • Ensure all patent information is correct and up to date including actual spend against patent budget, all patent information is captured (filing, prosecution and renewals) and patent summary is accurate
  • Draft and conclude assignments, revenue share agreements with innovators and third party funders and contributors;
  • Ensure appropriate allocation of ‘Rewards to Inventors’ is paid to the Innovators and third party funders and contributors in a timely manner.
  • Monitor and manage the efficient, effective and accurate conclusion of confidentiality agreements, material transfer agreements, collaboration agreements etc. and record all associated data and documentation, including agreement deadlines.
  • Ensure agreements and patent formalities are signed by the appropriate Crick signatory in a timely manner and in the required format, including wet signatures and witnessed signatures as necessary and copies are appropriately logged.
  • Ensure consistent and accurate information around IP and projects is entered on the tech transfer and data management system (Sophia), and on the patent renewals management system (IPRIS) and provide summaries of patent status and portfolio progress as required.
