By joining our faculty, you will help prepare and develop entrant industry professionals with the knowledge and expertise to make a significant difference to lives, health, wellbeing, communities and society. The Division of Psychology is part of the School of Applied Social Sciences, one of four specialist schools, also including Leicester School of Allied Health Sciences, Leicester School of Nursing and Midwifery, and Leicester School of Pharmacy.

Our teaching reflects the latest developments in the sector and many of our courses have professional accreditations. Recent graduates have secured roles with leading employers such as AstraZeneca, Ministry of Defence and the NHS. DMU’s dedicated facilities are designed to replicate current practice and feature industry-standard equipment, enabling staff and students to undertake life changing projects to improve health and social care.

We are looking to appoint a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Applied Psychology (Clinical or Forensic Psychology specialism) in the Division of Psychology. The role will include both teaching and research on British Psychological Society Accredited undergraduate and postgraduate psychology programmes.

Typically, your teaching duties will include preparation and delivery of lectures and seminars, supervision of student dissertation projects, contributing to the personal tutoring scheme, and the devising and marking of assessments. You will be required to contribute to the teaching of research methods to our students. There will be opportunities to become involved in a variety of existing research projects. You will hold a PhD, doctoral level qualification in psychology or near the completion of one. We are looking for you to have expertise in Clinical Psychology or Forensic Psychology. We also welcome applicants who are interested in working part-time or wish to have a job-share arrangement (for part time or job share, the salary will be pro rata). This is a maternity cover post for up to 12 months, or upon the return of the post-holder, whichever is sooner.
