About the role

Applications are welcomed for a new part-time position as Senior Lecturer in Secondary Initial Teacher Training and Education, within the Institute of Education. You should be experienced within the UK Secondary educational sector and must have QTS. 

As a member of the Provider-Led, School-Based Secondary PGCE with QTS ITT/E team you will be responsible for teaching, curriculum development, research and consultancy within this field of expertise.

Effective team working on and off campus is fundamental to this role, as is building and maintaining relationships with our Delivery Partners. 

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability and willingness to teach a variety of theoretical, professional and subject specific modules. With strong digital capabilities, you will use innovative and inclusive learning strategies which serve to motivate and support students to achieve outstanding academic and professional outcomes.

QTS is essential and you should have a proven record of current UK Secondary classroom based practice. You will need to highly value the student experience, teaching quality and standards, flexibility, effective professional practice and employability. We expect to appoint a future focused, innovative candidate who is fully conversant with current debates within education to inspire the teachers of the future.
