Hours: Full Time
Contract Type: Permanent
Placed On: 20th February 2024

The Cardiff School of Law, Politics and International Relations is making a significant investment in our pro bono activity. We want to expand our social justice mission activities by providing advice to the local community in Cardiff by helping people deal with their legal issues through an externally facing Law Clinic. This is one of three posts that is available.

We are looking for a professionally qualified solicitor, barrister or chartered legal executive, with a relevant practising certificate and ideally with three or more years post-qualification experience. They will have the ability to develop and manage a commercial/corporate/business arm to our law clinic. They will have the vision and ambition to participate in our expanded law clinic on an ongoing basis, assisting and supervising students with the delivery of advice and assistance to members of the local community. They will support the Grade 7 law clinic manager in the consolidation/expansion of our wider clinical portfolio.

The appointees will also be responsible for delivering skills-led elements of the curriculum, building at least part of that around their clinical activity.

For further information or an informal discussion, please contact Dave Cowan, the interim Head of School, at HeadofLAWPL@Cardiff.ac.uk; or the co-Heads of Pro Bono and Clinical Legal Education, Professor Julie Price and Professor Jason Tucker, at probono@cardiff.ac.uk.

This post is full time (35 hours per week), open-ended and available to start from 1 July 2024.

Salary: £39,347 - £44,263 per annum (Grade 6)
