Teacher of Theology and Philosophy

St Paul's School

Location: London, Hybrid
Salary: The School’s salary scale is substantially above the national scale.
Hours: Full Time
Contract Type: Permanent
Placed On: 21st February 2024
Closes: 29th February 2024

St Paul’s is a selective Independent Day School for boys aged 13-18, occupying a superb 45-acre site on the south bank of the Thames, west of Hammersmith Bridge. St Paul’s School excels academically at both A level and GCSE, with some of the highest national scores, but it is the work beyond the curriculum that excites both students and teachers alike.

This is an outstanding opportunity to join the vibrant and dynamic Theology & Philosophy Department of one of the country’s most academic independent schools. The successful candidate should be able to teach A LeveI Philosophy, A Level Religious Studies, GCSE Religious Studies, and contribute to our internally-written schemes of work in Moral Philosophy for years 9 and 10. It would also be advantageous if they could teach another humanities subject (economics, history, politics or geography). They should also have the enthusiasm to help raise further the profile of philosophy, theology and religious studies within the school by instilling in pupils a love of these subjects, and by expanding our super-curricular programme.

The School’s salary scale is substantially above the national scale.

Further details and an application form can be obtained from the School’s website via the vacancies page, or by email from recruitment@stpaulsschool.org.uk

The Head of Theology and Philosophy, Dr Rufus Duits, would be happy to talk to any interested applicant and answer any queries. He can be contacted by email in the first instance at rad@stpaulsschool.org.uk.

The closing date for all applications is 9am 29 February 2024.

Interviews will take place on 11 March 2024.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
