The UCL Department of Biochemical Engineering is focussed on the conversion of life science discoveries into commercial outcomes. It operates a comprehensive set of training, research and enterprise programmes. Academic and industrial engagement activities range from pre-university level, through undergraduate, postgraduate and post experience levels, all the way to senior executives. It has an outstanding track record and is a world leader in bioprocess research creating novel engineering solutions to underpin future biomanufacturing operations across a range of industry sectors. The Department prides itself on the extensive and growing interactions with industry over a range of activities including research collaborations, our MBI and VISION CPD programmes. This is an exciting opportunity to make an impact on a core activity within the department that has high visibility both internally and externally.

About the role

Working closely with the Strategic Alliance Director, the CPD Operations Manager will be responsible for the management and operation of our award winning CPD programme and related industry events. This will involve dedicated support in the co-ordination, project management and operational management on all these activities including: • Overall operational management of all aspects for delivering the MBI and VISION CPD programmes - managing enquiries, recruitment, financial management, course event planning and liaising with all stakeholders and speakers. • Working with the Strategic Alliance Director to develop strategies for focused recruitment on to MBI and VISION courses, designing and implementing robust marketing strategies and streamlining the departments CPD offering to for smooth operation. • Lead on project management of creation of new CPD courses or related activities to support with showcasing the departments excellence and expertise in key a! reas that are of interest to industry. • Managing recruitment and progression activities related to part-time MBI qualifications and liaising with the CDT Manager & Postgraduate Programme Manager. • Where required evaluating existing procedures with the Strategic Alliance Director and designing new and improved ways of working.

About you

The successful should have experience dealing with client enquiries, project management and event-co-ordination and marketing skills. They should be self-motivated with strong communication skills and be able to problem solve. We are looking for someone who is proactive and keen to support with taking our CPD programme to the next level.
