The Role

The Student Recruitment team have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Student Recruitment Coordinator (PARTNERS).

The Newcastle University Student Recruitment Team develops, leads and delivers a range of exciting events and activities designed to encourage young people from across the UK to consider university and to give them a taste of what life is like as an undergraduate student at Newcastle University. You will work as part of the team that delivers the Newcastle University supported entry programme (PARTNERS).

Our team play a vital role in the organisation and delivery of our PARTNERS Programme Supported Entry Route. PARTNERS is currently celebrating its 25th year and is one of the longest running and largest access programmes in the country, having supported over 9,000 students to enter the university. You will play a key role in the promotion and administration of the programme including; working closely with the admissions team and wider student recruitment team to ensure the application process is running efficiently, updating the website, creating and updating presentation materials, organising and delivering virtual events for prospective applicants.

A large element of this role is leading on the planning and organisation of the PARTNERS Academic Summer School (PASS). PASS is a large scale, complex residential event that forms a key part of the applicants' journey to studying with us. Duties will include liaising with a team of over 100 academic colleagues involved in the delivery of the event, coordinating attendee and staff timetables, organising staff briefings, recruiting and training student reps and overseeing the logistics of the submission of formative assessments by attendees.

As a Student Recruitment Co-Ordinator, you'll enjoy a varied role - in a typical week you might travel to another UK city to deliver an inspiring talk to students currently considering their options for life after school or college, plan and organise the logistics of an on-campus event, create engaging presentations or work with colleagues from across the University on large scale projects such as Open Days or Clearing.

This is a busy and exciting role, providing the post holder with a great deal of job satisfaction and would be suited to candidates wishing to progress their career in the Higher Education Sector.

The position is available on a fixed-term basis from March - 31 October 2024 and is offered on a full-time basis.

The UK Recruitment Team currently work flexibly enabling you to work in the office 3 days per week with the option to work the other 2 days at home (meetings and travel permitting).

This role can be considered as a secondment opportunity for any internal colleagues applying.
