Keele University provide an inclusive, dynamic research and training environment committed to open science and research integrity. We attract, retain, and develop a talented and diverse research workforce. Our teams are supported by a strong research and implementation infrastructure, integrated clinical partnerships, patient, and public involvement, and (inter)national collaborations, in order to accelerate early adoption of best evidence into policy and practice, and of methodological innovation into research application.

This post represents an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to join a team of global health researchers in Keele University’s School of medicine. The School of Medicine incorporates research in mental and global health which is one of Keele University's strategic research areas. Our research covers a broad range of topics on mental health across UK and global healthcare contexts. The global health research programme started in January 2017 and current global health projects are funded by GCRF, AHRC, MRC and NIHR.

You will work closely under the supervision of Professor Saeed Farooq on his portfolio of mental and global health studies. You will support the team to conduct literature reviews, develop plans for patient and public involvement and community engagement and draft papers for publication in peer review journal. You will also have opportunity to gain experience in writing study protocols and grant application for future funding.

You will have a Masters in a relevant health related discipline or equivalent qualification and some understanding of global mental health research particularly in Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs). This will be an excellent opportunity for a research assistant to develop expertise in these areas of research. Further details of the few recent research projects can be found here:
