The Role

It's a great time to join the Centre for Behavioural Science and Applied Psychology (CeBSAP) at Sheffield Hallam University. We are a growing research centre committed to academic excellence undertaking research to transform lives to make a positive difference.

The researchers will contribute to research projects in the field of health psychology and/or behavioural science, in support of our Research Excellence Framework (REF) strategy and work with colleagues as part of a team on a range of projects, contributing to the writing of research grants and bids, delivery of projects and reports and papers.

This is an excellent opportunity for you to further develop your research skills and gain invaluable, practical research experience working with staff in a varied and vibrant research environment.

We particularly invite researchers with the following skills/experience to apply:

  • Interviewing children and young people
  • Co-design
  • Systematic review

The Team

CeBSAP was launched in 2018 with the support of Sheffield Hallam University to undertake research in behavioural science and psychology under four themes: Behavioural science, behaviour change and well-being; Preventing, reducing and investigating criminality and exploitation; Applied cognition through the lifespan. Our work is funded by a combination of both traditional research grants and contract research.

The successful candidate will work within the Behavioural science, behaviour change and well-being theme that is led by Prof Abigail Millings and Dr Rachael Thorneloe, and with Prof Maddy Arden.

The successful candidates are likely to focus on one of the following projects:

  • A funded project to undertake a randomised controlled trial of an intervention to reduce inter-parental conflict.
  • A funded project to understand and increase health behaviours in the general population

CeBSAP has a growing team of dedicated researchers (2 x Professors 2 x senior research fellows; 1 x research fellow, 4 x researchers), research support staff, and draws on the expertise of academics from the Department of Psychology, Sociology & Politics.
