About the role

We are delighted to offer the opportunity to lead our highly successful MA Illustration course within the Graduate School at the Arts University Bournemouth. We are looking for a passionate and talented individual with substantial experience of studio-based teaching of illustration or related visual arts practices within higher education at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels.

You will be responsible for curriculum management and leadership; enhancement of teaching, learning and assessment; quality assurance and the day-to-day operational management of the course. The successful candidate will work closely with the other Course Leaders within the Graduate and Undergraduate Schools to enable close collaboration in the service of academic excellence and to ensure the best possible experience for our students.

The ideal candidate for the post will hold a Masters’ degree, a teaching qualification and Higher Education Academy (HEA) Membership. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in research, scholarship or pedagogy; a PhD is desirable. Professional experience of high-level engagement with current practice is essential.

You will be working with a diverse range of staff and students. You will be empathetic, respectful of difference and flexible in your approach. You will be an excellent communicator, have strong IT skills, and be committed to a student-centred learning and teaching environment and to AUB’s maker culture.
