Annual Leave: 30 days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year

Location: College Lane Campus, Hatfield, Hertfordshire 

We are seeking to recruit a Project Manager and Executive Dean to the Medical School, to manage and co-ordinate the activities related to the Medical School development, including coordinating the application process to the General Medical Council. You will provide a comprehensive executive support service to the Dean of Medical School, as well as undertaking a range of key activities such as co-ordination of the events, diary management, meeting servicing, and general administrative tasks. You will be making decisions and acting on behalf of the Dean of Medical School. 

Main duties and responsibilities

You will develop a detailed project plan for the General Medical Council application process and to be responsible for monitoring and tracking progress, co-ordinate and manage the operational activities, arrange the relevant committee meetings, and liaise with internal and external project stakeholders on behalf of the Dean. You will be expected to lead on implementing a monitoring system for the project via an appropriate system and ensuring oversight of the team members’ access and utilisation of the system. 

Skills and experience required  

The successful candidate should be able to evidence recent project management experience and contributing to large scale/complex projects.

You must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to engage professionally with staff at a senior level. In addition, this role requires experience of managing work activities which require a high level of collaborative working, time management and negotiating skills in a busy environment.

Qualifications required

Minimum of a degree (or equivalent level 6 qualification, or significant proven administrative experience) plus a project management qualification.
