The role

How do we get different forms of AI to work together? The EPSRC funded INFORMED-AI hub uses information theory to help understand the fundamental limits of information processing systems. The INFORMED-AI experts from the Universities of Bristol, Cambridge, Durham and Imperial will work with industry partners using information theory, machine learning, distributed systems, cybersecurity, statistics, and quantum systems to look at technologies such as mobile networks, data compression, deep space communications and the internet. By using this multidimensional approach, the Hub will provide insights and novel approaches into the best ways to deal with large datasets and different approaches to AI, to increase reliability and improve privacy.

Overseeing the operational management of the newly established Hub, the role holder will be responsible for developing efficient processes for managing the day-to-day operations of the Hub. The role holder will be responsible for managing budgets, monitoring key performance indicators, supporting recruitment and training activities, reporting to EPSRC and the strategic advisory board, developing and implementing communication plans for the hub, supporting collaborative activities across the hub, nurturing partnership activities with existing partners and supporting the development of the network. The hub manager will be a key member of the Hub management team, working closely with Hub Directors, the Knowledge Exchange (KE) lead, the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) lead, and the institutional leads to develop and coordinate research activities and events with university collaborators and industrial partners. The role holder will liaise with professional teams within the University and across the hub network to implement strategy and maintain smooth and consistent processes across the hub.
