Job Summary

Imperial College School of Medicine is seeking to continually improve its quality assurance model for the MBBS programme. We are seeking a quality minded health care professional to work as part of an effective and cohesive academic and professional services team to further improve our QA model.

We work collaboratively across the Medical School, the Department of Primary Care and with our NHS and GP colleagues in the community. Our aim is to maintain the highest standards of undergraduate clinical education within primary care. This model may be extended to include other healthcare settings and NGO placements as required.

Duties and responsibilities

Working as part of a team you will contribute to planning and implementing a detailed analysis of our existing Quality Assurance cycles for Primary and Secondary Care clinical placements. As a team we will review recommended improvements against established good practice and desired outcomes. Additionally, you will contribute to teaching activity on the MBBS programme which will be commensurate with your clinical skills and experience.

You will develop and maintain project documentation and appropriate records to demonstrate, deliver and evaluate against agreed project aims and outcomes. To achieve this, you will facilitate constructive collaboration with a broad range of partners including students, alumni, accrediting bodies, and employers.

You will also work with the Department of Primary Care, HEE Training Hub, Primary Care Network, and senior faculty to support and implement an evaluation of the effectiveness of the changes, ensuring that this informs continued improvement and, where appropriate, contribute to the wider disciplinary literature on medical education.

Essential requirements

Applicants will have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively and build effective working relationships with people operating at different levels across the organisation. Other key attributes include:

  • Registered healthcare professionals with experience of delivering clinical education and a proven interest in quality assurance.
  • Experience of evaluation, critical enquiry and contribution to educational research
  • An understanding of relevant educational theory and good practice relating to student learning, teaching, assessment and course design in Medical Education
  • Possess excellent project management skills and are proficient in managing multiple workflows in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Ability to use a variety of software to plan, evaluate and present data with clarity and accuracy
