The post

This role will encompass delivery of lecturing on sport psychology and related modules on our UGT and PGT programmes, as well as the delivery of sport psychology services to athletes and teams within the University performance programme, TASS and key external partners. A key component of the role is to develop, coordinate, and oversee student placements (internal and external) in line with academic modules and strategic needs. It is expected that the role will be roughly 0.8 E&S teaching and student support and 0.2 applied work, however these boundaries may be fluid at different times of the academic year. Fractional contracts will be considered.

About you

This is a new type of role for us which seeks to expand on our sport psychology education and applied delivery; working between the academic department and our student athlete support team. The successful applicant will be able to develop teaching content that brings the applied nature of working as a sport psychologist to ‘life’ for students and support student athletes with their sport psychology needs.

Applicants will possess a relevant PhD (or possess an equivalent qualification/experience) in a related field of study and have experience of teaching sport psychology. Applicants will either be Registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) or have completed (or be on) a recognised training pathway - Either the British Psychology Society (BPS) Qualification in Sport & Exercise Psychology (QSEP) or British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES) Sport and Exercises Psychology Accreditation Route (SEPAR).
