This is an exciting new opportunity to join the University of Warwick Counselling and Psychotherapy Services (CAPS) team.
We strongly recommend that you contact Sam Tarren (Head of Counselling and Psychotherapy Services) at samantha.tarren@warwick.ac.uk and discuss the role prior to submitting an application.
CAPS sits within the University Wellbeing & Student Support (W&SS) Teams at the University of Warwick who deliver a range of student support services through the Wellbeing, Disability and Counselling and Psychotherapy Services teams.
We are committed to providing professional services that are tailored to students’ individual requirements, aimed at enabling students to successfully complete their studies and enhance their student experience.
We are looking to employ an Associate Psychological Therapist, that is, a Counsellor/Psychotherapist who has completed their professional qualification and is working towards developing their practice to apply for accreditation (usually with BACP).
On a day to day basis the Associate Psychological Therapist will offer individual therapy to students for short to medium term therapy contracts (around 5 sessions) working with moderate to complex distress.
The presenting concerns are varied and typically include anxiety; depression; self identity and relationship issues but also will include eating distress; suicidality; self harm and complex trauma.
This post will suit you if you have a particular interest in delivering therapy in the University context.
For further information regarding the skills required for this role please see the personal specification section of the attached job description.
