About the Role
We are looking to recruit 2x Mental Health Advisers who have significant training and clinical experience to provide advice, guidance, and support to students with diagnosed and suspected mental health difficulties. To offer, in tandem with the Senior Mental Health Adviser and Head of the Service and other staff within Advice and Counselling, mental health assessments and interventions that support students’ mental health.
One of the posts will be offered on a 1-year fixed term basis with the potential for further funding for the role on a permanent basis.
About You
Applicants must have an appropriate clinical qualification such a mental health nursing or occupational therapy, and have significant experience of providing short-term mental health support to individuals within an institutional setting and who are used to working with clients from diverse backgrounds and social groups, and preferably with experience of working with young adults.
About the Department
The Advice and Counselling Service is a multidisciplinary student support service offering counselling and psychological support, mental health advice, psychiatry clinics, welfare advice, financial advice and immigration advice and a sexual assault and harassment Advice team.
