For this state of the art molecular tools and in vivo imaging and a simple, powerful, and ethical in vivo model (Drosophila melanogaster larvae), combined with mammalian neuronal models in culture  will be employed to identify conserved mechanisms that mediate pain processes and neuronal sensitisation.
