Tutor / Lecturer in English for Academic Purposes (Pre-sessional)

The University of Glasgow is seeking to a appoint Tutors / Lecturers in English for Academic Study (Pre-sessional) within the School of Modern Languages & Cultures.

In the role, you will contribute to the delivery of an excellent student experience by contributing to teaching, assessment, supervision (Grade 7) and administration processes, principally on the Summer Pre-sessional Programme, as requested by the EAS Manager/Head of SMLC, in order to contribute to learning and teaching objectives of English for Academic Study (EAS) in the School of Modern Languages & Cultures.

These posts are full-time (35 hours per week) and fixed-term until 23rd August 2024. Work is available in two teaching blocks:

• June Entry/ 10-week: *Wednesday 12th June – Friday 19th July, 2024
• July Entry /  5-week:  *Wednesday 17th July – Friday 23rd August, 2024

Positions are available for either or both of these teaching blocks. Applicants should state their availability in the covering letter accompanying an application.

*These dates are inclusive of a compulsory and comprehensive pre-course teacher induction programme.

Please note, the Summer Pre-sessional Programme will be delivered exclusively face-to-face at the University of Glasgow campus. Applicants will be required to be available for on-campus work in Glasgow for the duration of the appointment and must have the required Right to Work permissions.

Please further note, free accommodation cannot be provided as part of this post, nor can financial support for accommodation costs.
