The University of Reading is looking to recruit to a vital senior position within Student Services: Head of Examinations and Graduation.
The University has been at the forefront of UK higher education for nearly a century. Over the decades we have become innovators and pioneers, pushing academic boundaries and leading social change. We are in the midst of an exciting new direction; moving our extensive portfolio of programmes to a semester-based academic calendar, and this post would be a vital part of that transition.
As the Head of EGO, you will provide operational leadership to a team of 15 staff who deliver key assessment and congregation processes for the university. You will be responsible for the oversight of delivery and improvement of assessment and awarding processes, including the maintenance of the student record, the external examining system and the operational organisation of centrally administered assessment. You will represent the EGO to key university stakeholders in decision-making positions, including Teaching and Learning Deans and Pro Vice Chancellors, and ensure that policies are appropriately shaped and understood.
You will use your extensive operational and staff leadership experience to support a high performing team through a time of significant change: design connected ways of working through the utilisation of technological solutions, strive for operational efficacy and resilience and communicate effectively to the wider university. You will be a problem solver, a collaborator, and an agent of change within a complex and fast changing environment. Your knowledge of systems and assessment administration, ideally gained from a higher education context, will help push our agenda forward as we head into an exciting new direction for the University.
