The role

The Digital Education Office (DEO) works across the University of Bristol to promote the use of technology to enhance learning, teaching and assessment. Digital Education Developers work in partnership with students and staff, and collaboratively across the DEO to support existing and emerging strategic and operational priorities. We are recruiting for Digital Education Developers to support a major new institutional project, as well as support existing services, and deliver digital education enhancements to improve the student and staff experience.    

What will you be doing?

  • Analysing individual, school or faculty educational needs and providing expert guidance on appropriate digital approaches
  • Investigating, promoting and disseminating effective digital education approaches
  • Contributing to assigned projects to support development and enhancement of digital approaches
  • Diagnosing and suggesting solutions to a range of educational and technical problems
  • Exploring and generating ideas for new or enhanced tools or approaches
  • Designing and delivering training and guidance materials and supporting the development of digital skills
  • Supporting the use of a range of digital tools, approaches and workflows, including resolving complex queries about major digital education tools and processes
  • Contributing to committees, project boards, and working groups as appropriate
  • Contributing to team planning

You should apply if

  • You have enthusiasm and experience of using and supporting technology in an educational setting
  • You have good working knowledge of one or more of the digital tools and approaches supported by the DEO
  • You have an understanding of pedagogy or learning design theory, particularly as it relates to online and blended learning
  • You have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • You can demonstrate your ability to engage and develop relationships with key stakeholders effectively and appropriately
  • You have experience of designing and delivering staff development and/or training, online and/or face-to-face  
  • You are able to meet deadlines, work independently and as part of a team, and manage your own workload
  • You have a flexible, adaptable approach, work with great attention to detail, and can promote positive change
