About the Role:

You will be joining the successful Vision and Hearing/Sensory Sciences team: a leading provider of quality clinical education in Optometry and Ophthalmic Dispensing and Audiology, located in the Faculty of Science and Engineering on our Cambridge campus. We are forward-looking and enthusiastic, with a vision that combines a strong civic commitment to our region with excellence in learning and teaching. We are seeking an experienced and motivated academic in Optometry to contribute to teaching and administration on our vision science courses. The prospective candidate will deliver across the teaching and learning portfolio in Vision Science. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the broad range of the School’s teaching portfolio, in particular our MOptom course, accredited by the General Optical Council.

You will have a degree and PhD or Professional Doctorate (or nearing completion), as well as registration with the GOC as an Optometrist. You will have teaching experience in Higher Education in the area of Optometry, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work co-operatively and as part of a team. You will have an enthusiastic and flexible approach and you will demonstrate the ability and desire to contribute to the School’s research, knowledge exchange & consulting activities.
