An opportunity has now arisen for a communications adviser to join our busy External Communications team. The successful candidate will play an important role in helping the University tell its story and boost its profile in the news media, showcasing its academic expertise and student successes by producing a variety of written, photographic and video content appealing to audiences ranging from potential students right through to policymakers and other key influencers

The Person

A creative communications professional, you will have a real way with words and a flair for producing compelling written and visual content for a range of different audiences and channels. With a nose for news, you will have the talent and enthusiasm to carry out a range of proactive and reactive media and public relations activity, as well as writing for our online news sites and producing content for our social media platforms.

You will be a highly motivated and well organised self-starter, keen to further develop your career and someone who thrives on variety and learning new skills. As well as having responsibility for your own projects, you will work collaboratively with colleagues on campaigns and other activity. Educated to degree level, you will ideally have already worked in a communications office or as a journalist. Your role will involve working with staff and students across all our University sites in and around Kingston upon Thames.

This is full time, permenant position with a starting salary of £37,646.00 per annum.
