Salary: Appointments are normally made at the starting salary, however comparable skills and experience will be considered. Future progression is based on annual performance review.

Hours per week: 35 hours per week (full-time)

Location: Based across both Sutton and Chelsea sites, with the opportunity for some home working.

We are looking for an experienced higher education professional who will shape the strategic direction and oversee the operational management of our postgraduate educational programmes. 

The successful candidate will possess:

  • an undergraduate or higher degree, with a preference for backgrounds in science or medicine;
  • a comprehensive understanding of higher education policies and their impact on postgraduate studies, coupled with a familiarity with academic and clinical training pathways;
  • proven experience in policy development within a research-intensive higher education environment, demonstrating an ability to lead and innovate;
  • exceptional skills of both written and spoken communication, with a talent for developing strong partnerships and driving collaborative projects to completion;
  • a strategic mindset, with demonstrated project management prowess and a commitment to enhancing student experience.

The Head of Registry will be instrumental in:

  • ensuring the delivery of high-quality, responsive educational services, with a focus on continuous improvement and student success;
  • driving policy development and ensuring adherence to the highest academic standards and legal requirements;
  • developing and nurturing partnerships both within the UK and internationally, to expand and enrich our educational offerings;
  • leading the implementation of effective data management practices to support strategic decision-making and maintain regulatory compliance;

Department/Directorate Information

The Registry team provides administrative support and policy expertise for the operation of the ICR’s degree programmes. We also lead on the enhancement of the student experience and the management of strategic education collaborations.

The role of the broader Academic Services directorate is to create an efficient and effective environment for the ICR’s scientific community to flourish. Our services underpin both research and education at the ICR.
