Acaster Lloyd Consulting Ltd is a scientific research consultancy based in Central London led by co­founders Sarah Acaster and Andrew Lloyd. The Acaster Lloyd group includes over 30 people, mostly based in London. We undertake consultancy and research for biotech and pharmaceutical companies globally in the field of clinical outcomes assessment/ patient reported outcomes. We work with our clients to understand the burden of disease and the value of medicines and other health technologies from the patients’ perspective.

THE ROLE

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Statistician/ Psychometrician to plan, undertake and supervise statistical analysis of patient outcomes data. To apply for the role you will need:

Data analysis skills

  • Good knowledge of common statistical methods applied to patient outcomes data.
  • Good knowledge of psychometrics preferred.
  • Experience executing quantitative data analysis projects (including data cleaning, analysis, and data visualisation) is essential.
  • Capable of providing code review, and able to debug and test existing code is essential.
  • Interest in reproducible research essential, familiarity with version control essential.
  • Experience with the development of statistical analysis plans preferred.

Professional skills

  • Able to work independently and deliver analytical projects at pace.
  • Able to communicate effectively and in a meaningful, accessible way in cross-functional teams.
  • Able to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

Technical skills

  • Familiarity with and interest in R strongly preferred. Experience with R package development, or working on complex, long-term projects (e.g., maintaining shiny dashboard).
  • Good knowledge of data visualisation packages would be useful.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

ABOUT YOU

  • You have a bachelor’s degree (typically psychology, statistics/biostatistics, epidemiology, bioinformatics, public health, mathematics), or training/qualification in statistics.
  • A Senior Statistician/Psychometrician would also have a post-graduate qualification in a (public) health related field (e.g. MSc, MPH, PhD) with a strong quantitative component.
  • Proven experience in the skills required for the role.
  • Ability to work independently.

SALARY RANGE/SPECIFICS

  • Salary dependent on experience.
  • Flexible working hours.
  • Hybrid working - this role can be office or home based with monthly/quarterly visits to our office in Central London.
  • Must have the Right to Work in the UK.

INTERVIEW PROCESS

We have a 3 stage interview process:

  • Virtual first stage 20-minute chat with a Director.
  • The second stage will be face to face at our offices in Holborn, starting with a structured interview with two Directors.
  • The final stage is a more informal meeting with members of the project team.
