We are a vibrant and engaging team based in the School of Applied Sciences at the University of Brighton, teaching the next generation of town planners.  An exciting opportunity has arisen for a practitioner to join our staff on a part/time basis to educate our students on the challenges of achieving sustainable development in coastal communities in the twenty-first century, including the impact of climate change. The course is fully accredited and unique for its outstanding location by the sea, the South Downs National Park and a 180-degree urban catchment area. Furthermore, as a school we are committed to the UN sustainability goals which are embedded in all of our curricular.

If you are a dynamic communicator and team player interested in developing the next generation of town planners, with a sound knowledge of town and spatial planning, and an understanding of spatial planning, development Management process, Local and Neighbourhood Plan processes, national planning policy, NPPF, or planning law, appeals and enforcement, then we would like to hear from you.

We would particularly welcome applications from those with an ethnic minority background, as this is an area which is underrepresented in the discipline.  We are proud to hold a Bronze Race charter mark and a Silver Athena Swan award.  We are a disability confident employer.

If you would like to discuss the position, informally, then please contact the course leader, Ms Wrighton at g.wrighton3@brighton.ac.uk or the Dean of the school, Dr Smallbone at k.smallbone@brighton.ac.uk

We welcome applications from job sharers.
