The School of Health and Social Care has an excellent reputation for innovative educational delivery of a range of professional programmes in combination with an excellent research track record in social scientific approaches to the study of health, illness, and wellbeing. The school offers a unique context for the development and application of novel approaches to the study of a range of health and social care contexts, all underpinned by a concern for understanding the wider social contexts in which health, illness and wellbeing are located. We have excellent partnerships with NHS, private and third sector organisations which facilitate and underpin our excellence in applied research and impact.

As part of this exciting expansion, we are looking to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Clinical Psychology who is accredited by the Association of Family Therapy (AFT) as a family therapist. Our programme is growing research collaborations with the wider university including the Psychology Department and other social science and clinical research groups and centres.

The role will require management, administration and organisation alongside support of students on our existing programme, and generally enhancing our systemic practice teaching and developing an intermediary level training in systemic practice to be accredited by AFT, within the Clinical Psychology programme.

Skills and qualifications required
For the Lecturer role, you will have a relevant doctoral level research degree in systematic practice (or be close to completion of PhD) or equivalent professional experience / practice with an accreditation as a systemic practitioner/family therapist with Association of family therapy. Along with Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy or the ability to gain professional recognition at this or a higher level if appropriate.

For the Senior Lecturer role, you will have a relevant doctoral level degree in clinical psychology or systematic practice or equivalent professional experience or practice. You will also be accredited as a systemic practitioner/family therapist with Association of family therapy, along with having a registration as a clinical psychologist with HCPC or ability to obtain. Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy or the ability to gain professional recognition at this or a higher level if appropriate is also required.

The successful candidate will have substantial experience in teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels, or demonstrable potential to engage in teaching and learning support in engaging and innovative ways. Experience of designing and planning of learning activities (training, modules, programmes of study, etc.), developing effective learning environments (face to face and/or virtual) and approaches to student support and guidance is also essential for the post.
