Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Project Manager within UCD Research
AIREN, the All-Island Research Excellence Network, wishes to appoint a Project Manager for (potentially up to) 12 months to support the activities of the network on the island of Ireland (IOI) to scale the network’s initiatives, membership, communications and progress towards developing a sustainable model for future membership.
The AIREN initiative, led by University College Dublin (UCD), Queen’s University Belfast (QUB) and Ulster University (UU), commenced in January 2021 to establish the first dedicated all-island network for research support professionals across the IOI. The network, which currently has over 200 members, is supported by the Higher Education Authority (HEA) and delivers benefits to Higher Education Institutions (HEI), those working in research management and administration, and the wider research sector.
In order to support the activities and growth of AIREN, a dedicated Project Manager is being recruited to support the Governance Committee and Executive Management Committee. The Project Manager will report to the AIREN Chair based at UCD and work closely with the Executive Management Committee and other relevant stakeholders to ensure appropriate plans and activities are implemented and the timely delivery of the agreed programme of work.
The postholder must be a self-starter with excellent attention to detail who can take high-level direction, support the delivery of work that needs to be undertaken, and foster stakeholder engagement to ensure project success. Knowledge of the funding landscape to support all-island and North-South research is desirable.
