UCL's Finance Business Partnering team provides strategically focused support to leadership teams across UCL. The team forges strong relationships with stakeholders to enable expert advice, critical challenge and timely decision support to enable the best financial performance.

About the role

In the job of Senior Business Partner – Research and Innovation you'll be responsible for leading the business partnering relationship with senior research colleagues and other budget-holders within their portfolio, building partnerships and maintain strong relationships with senior managers and their teams.

This job will be truly cross-cutting, working with colleagues from across finance to provide insight and influence on research finance which we currently do not have. This role is critical, as it will play a key part in ensuring we deliver key pillars of our financial strategy.

About you

To do the job of Senior Finance Business Partner - Research and Innovation, you'll need to be a fully qualified accountant (CCAB) with evidence of up-to-date technical knowledge and a track record of providing financial partnership to senior leaders. You'll have experience of working within a Business Partnering role within a complex Higher Education or research institution, and an understanding of how research finance works. You'll be able to deliver financial analysis and information to non-finance staff, using the numbers to "tell a story", and also be able to influence and challenge stakeholders to a senior level.
