We’re seeking a Senior International Officer to lead on the student recruitment strategy and activities in South Asia and the Middle East. In this role you’ll lead strategic initiatives and utilise your outstanding interpersonal and communication skills to engage with prospective students, their supporters and other key stakeholders. You’ll collaborate closely with colleagues across the Marketing, Recruitment and Admissions team to attract the brightest students from across the globe.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Design, develop and deliver market specific plans and strategies for student recruitment from South Asia and the Middle East
  • Engage with students, counsellors, parents and key stakeholders face-to-face and virtually to provide clear information and guidance, whilst promoting the university
  • Line manage and support the development of an International Student Recruitment Officer and an in-country Manager in India
  • To develop an extensive knowledge of the assigned markets, to seek out market intelligence, and investigate application and conversion rates in order to support faculties and departments with their student recruitment strategies

Essential requirements 

  • An undergraduate level degree, or equivalent
  • Experience of international student recruitment or education marketing
  • Knowledge of the UK Higher Education system and admissions processes
  • Experience of staff management
  • Experience of activity planning and resource management
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Experience of working as a flexible team member, who can also work independently
  • Knowledge of and sensitivity to other cultures
  • Experience of dealing positively with a wide variety of internal and external contacts
  • Flexibility and a capacity to adapt to the changing demands of the job
  • A willingness to travel overseas and the possession of a valid passport
