Faculty

Role

The Associate Professor is a key leadership role within the university’s academic community, making a positive, significant and strategic contribution through teaching, learning and scholarship. The post holder will be an externally-recognised teacher of excellence, responsible for the innovative development and management of teaching and learning activities which allow for individualised learning and cater for students from diverse and international backgrounds, and for influencing the pedagogy of the subject.

In addition, all Associate Professors will take on subject leadership responsibilities, including acting as a line manager within the relevant subject area, to include all aspects of line management, such as performance management, workload/resource management, objective setting and appraisals and/or undertake a strategic cross faculty or university responsibility that requires the delivery of a particular portfolio of activity across the relevant area.

Ideal Candidate

You will hold a PhD in psychology (or equivalent professional qualification and experience). You will be familiar with delivering teaching and learning within a Higher Education or academic-level delivery within commercial settings. You will be able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all members of the University community. You will share DMU’s passion to provide outstanding and inclusive outcomes for all of its students.
