Senior Project Manager

Kingston University – Digital Applications and Portfolio

Working as a key member of the Digital Portfolio, you will be have ownership and responsibility of a range of medium to large IT and strategic IT related projects ensuring that activity is delivered with the support of project sponsors.

This role requires strong stakeholder management skills in a client-customer model with the need for ownership and drive to ensure that both business and project resources are committed and delivering to the project timelines.

You will support the Head of Digital Applications and Portfolio, and in consultation with stakeholders to deliver and implement solutions and changes to working practices to ensure new services deliver a high quality service for the University’s staff and students.

The Person

As a member of the IT portfolio you will be responsible for delivering high quality, robust, resilient, responsive and secure University wide IT Projects that provide customer focused solutions which support the delivery of improved services.

The assigned projects will predominantly involve software applications and core IT infrastructure which are supplied by 3rd parties therefore strong experience with supplier management and software roll out to complex environments would be beneficial.

You will have had previous experience leading on projects or skills which you can demonstrate as cross transferable to the role. You would have worked in a project environment before, knowledgeable on project governance, gateway check points, the different stages of a project, the types of stakeholders involved at each stage and standard project reporting requirements.

You will know how to create project plans within a tool like MS project and be able to track project finances.

Our key functions are to innovate, implement and support an extensive range of digital services across the University to assist our community access and process information to achieve their goals.

This is a full time, permanent position with a starting salary of £48,251 per annum.
