The Role

We are seeking a Laboratory Technician Demonstrator who will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the operations of our Civil Engineering and Hydraulics Labs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing lab equipment, preparing and conducting tests on concrete materials, Land Surveying, and operating hydraulic simulation equipment. Key responsibilities include setting up lab materials for sessions, adhering to health and safety protocols, ensuring the availability of necessary materials, and maintaining a safe learning environment. Proficiency in relevant software tools for data analysis and simulation in civil engineering is essential, along with a strong understanding of material testing standards and hydraulic engineering principles.  

The Person 

The successful candidate will exhibit a solid technical background in conducting and analysing construction material, hydraulic tests, and land surveying. Proficiency with civil engineering software tools for simulation and data analysis is crucial, as is the capacity to efficiently prepare and manage laboratory settings. A dedication to health and safety standards and expertise in materials management are required. Desirable qualities include a strong understanding of fluid mechanics and excellent communication skills, enabling effective support and instruction to students and staff in a vibrant academic setting.
